We are at home – everything is moved in and we got ride of all the moving boxes on the weekend. I started to decorate a little already and it feels like home already. Yeah. I do like that a lot…

Today was moving day no. 4 and I can’t wait to be done moving. Tomorrow we move the furniture and then it should be over. On Sunday we have to clean the apartment before we can turn it in.
Until now I drove 16 times between the apartment and the new house to bring stuff over there. I can’t see boxes anymore and I am so done lifting heavy stuff. My back is hurting and I hope that it will stop soon. 
Manuel will be home soon and then I will get something to eat. I am starving since I did not have something since this morning except water of course. And that is something I need because I am sweating a lot with 96 F outside.

Heute war Umzugstag Nr. 5 und ich kann es kaum erwarten bis wir fertig sind mit umziehen. Morgen bringen wir die Möbel ins Haus und dann sollten wir fertig sein. Am Sonntag muss dann noch das Apartment geputzt werden bevor wir es übergeben können.
Bis jetzt bin ich 16 mal zwischen dem Apartment und dem neuen Haus hin und her gefahren und habe Sachen dorthin gebracht. Ich kann keine Boxen mehr sehen und will keine schweren Sachen mehr heben. Mein Rücken tut weh und ich hoffe, dass das bald besser wird.
Manuel wird bald daheim sein und dann will ich unbedingt was essen. Ich bin sooo hungrig. Ich hab seit heute morgen nichts mehr gegessen und nur Wasser getrunken. Und das ist was, was ich hier wirklich brauche – ich bin so am schwitzen bei 36C.

Our appliances are here and they look nice. I like the fridge – it is huge but still nice looking. 
The delivery guys were supposed to show up sometime between 10:45am and 12:45pm but they came at 10:30am. By 11am I had everything installed and running.
Moving day no. 2 is done as well. I just drove 3 times yesterday but I managed to put most of the kitchen stuff into the cabinets. I also managed to store some books and DVDs in the correct shelf.
Today is moving day no. 3 and we will move more stuff. I have 3 more packed boxes plus 3 plastic laundry baskets full of stuff. They will be on the way to the house soon.

Unsere Elektrogeräte sind hier und sehen sehr schön aus. Ich mag besonders den Kühlschrank. Die Lieferung war irgendwann zwischen 10:45 und 12:45 Uhr angesagt aber sie waren schon um 10:30 Uhr da. Gegen 11 Uhr war alles installiert und getestet.
Umzugstag Nr. 2 ist auch vorbei. Ich hab heute nur 3 Autoladungen zum Haus gebracht aber dafür hab ich den grössten Teil der Küchensachen in die Schränke geräumt. Ich hab auch einige Bücher und DVDs im richtigen Regal verstaut.
Heute ist Umzugstag Nr. 3 und wir werden mehr Zeugs umziehen. Im Moment hab ich 3 gepackte Boxen hier stehen sowie 3 Wäschekörbe voller Zeugs. Und diese Sachen werden gleich auf dem Weg zum Haus sein.

The first moving day is done. Yesterday I drove 6 cars full of stuff to the house. All my books are over there for example. Today I will bring more stuff to the house but more importantly we will get our appliances today. Yeah. Can’t wait for them to come.

Der erste Umzugstag ist rum. Ich hab gestern sechs Autoladungen voller Zeug zum Haus gebracht. Zum Beispiel sind alle meine Bücher dort. Heute geht es mit dem umziehen weiter aber viel wichtiger ist, dass wir heute unsere Elektrogeräte bekommen. Juchu. Kann es gar nicht abwarten bis sie da sind.

I bought us some appliances today. Yeah.
We googled yesterday and found that Sears Outlet in Clearwater had the fridge we wanted. I went there today but unfortunately both fridges were damaged on the front. I did not buy anyone. Since I was close I also went to the Sears Outlet in St. Pete and I was lucky there. I found the fridge we wanted. It just came in and was still originally wrapped but had a little bump on the freezer door. It is there but not visible all the time – it depends on how you look at the door. That is the reason why I got it 50% off. Great deal – it save us at least 800 Dollars. Then they also had the dryer I wanted. It had a few scratches on the top and was 100 Dollars off the normal Sears price. I got both and since I need a washer as well – I bought a new washer too (they did not had a reduced one). That saved us another delivery fee. We will get our stuff on Wednesday next week – I can’t wait…

Ich hab heute Haushaltsgeräte gekauft. Juchu.
Wir haben gestern Abend etwas gegooglet und dabei herausgefunden, dass Sears Outlet in Clearwater unseren Wunschkühlschrank hat. Deswegen bin ich heute morgen dorthin gefahren, aber leider waren beide Kühlschränke an der Vorderseite beschädigt. Also hab ich keinen gekauft. Im Sears Outlet findet man Ausstellungsstücke oder Geräte, die zurückgegeben wurden und deswegen reduziert sind. Da ich schon mal in der Gegend war bin ich auch noch zum Sears Outlet in St. Pete gefahren und dort hatte ich Glück. Ich hab genau den Kühlschrank gefunden, den wir beide haben wollten. Sie haben ihn grade reingekriegt und er war noch nicht mal ausgezeichnet. Er hatte eine kleine Delle in der Tür. Allerdings ist die Delle nicht immer sichtbar, kommt drauf an, in welchem Winkel man drauf guckt. Aber die Delle ist der Grund warum wir den Kühlschrank um 50% reduziert bekommen haben. Ein super Geschäft, denn es hat uns mal locker 800 Dollar gespart. Dann hatten sie auch noch den Trockner, den ich haben wollte. Er hatte obendrauf ein paar Kratzer, aber dafür gab es ihn 100 Dollar günstiger als der normale Sears Preis. Ich hab beide gekauft und dann brauchte ich ja auch noch eine Waschmaschine. Ich hab dann eine neue gekauft, da sie keine reduzierte da hatten. Dadurch hab ich uns doppelte Versandkosten gespart. Jetzt wird alles zusammen nächsten Mittwoch geliefert und ich bin happy und kann es kaum erwarten….

Today we had the walk thru of our house. That means you meet up with somebody at the house and they show you how everything works (e.g. sprinkler system, a/c) or where you find everything (e.g. manuals, fuses) and so on. And of course we had to go thru the house and see if everything was okay or if they have to repair somethings that did not work…
We found some paint work to be done – mostly small scratches near the bottom or some wall paint dripped on the base boards. Then there was a cracked tile they have to fix and a few more little things.
On Monday – before closing – we go back and then everything should be fixed.
Can’t wait for Monday to come…. …juchu…

Heute hatten wir unseren Hausdurchgang. Wir haben uns mit jemandem am Haus getroffen und er hat uns gezeigt wie alles funktioniert (z.B. Bewässerungssystem, Klimaanlage) oder wo wir was finden (z.B. Gebrauchsanleitungen, Sicherungskasten) und so weiter. Und natürlich mussten wir dann noch durchs Haus gehen und sicherstellen, dass alles okay ist oder ob es noch Reparaturen gibt oder irgendwas, das nicht funktioniert.
Wir haben ein paar Stellen gefunden, die nochmals übermalt werden müssen – meistens kleine Kratzer in Bodennähe oder Fussleisten, auf die Wandfarbe getrippst ist. Dann war da noch ein gebrochene Fliesse, die ersetzt werden muss und noch ein paar andere kleine Sachen.
Am Montag – vor dem Closing – werden wir nochmals zum Haus fahren und uns angucken, ob alles repariert bzw. ausgebessert worden ist.
Ich kann den Montag gar nicht erwarten…. -juchu-
